About

Hello frAntelope Canyoniends and fellow travelers! My name is Kayla Scott and one of my greatest passions in life is traveling. My other great passion is history, and more often than not those two go hand-in-hand.  So this blog is my outlet to share my love for traveling as well as mixing in a little bit of history.

I grew up in Kansas City, MO and went to college at Truman State University where I studied Classics and Communication: Journalism. Communication was my primary major, but my love for ancient history had me continuing my Latin studies through college. (I had previously taken four years of Latin in high school). The two majors provided me with a diverse academic experience and I enjoyed [almost] every minute of my four years in college.

Upon graduation, I packed up  my belongings and moved out West to begin my career in film production. I spent over five years working in the film industry and it was a dream come true (most of the time lol). I loved the companies I worked for and made some of my best friends in LA! But my wanderlust soul was feeling restless and so I up and moved to New Zealand where I am currently traveling around for the next year exploring the gorgeous landscape here! I never know where life is going to take me. 🙂

I hope you enjoy my posts as I strive to travel to as many places as possible.  I love to seek out new adventures, and as Robert Frost so beautifully wrote, I too, prefer to take the road less traveled by. (Even if I’m taking his words and meaning rather literally 😉 )

    • Thank you, Judy! I look forward to sharing more adventures, and I hope one of them can be a return trip to North Carolina! 🙂

Me, too. If you can give me an idea of about when you might be interested in coming, I’ll let you know when the beach weeks are.
